R.O.W. - Rock on Water is a unique gift shop located in the heart of downtown St. John\'s, offering handcrafted items by local artisans, including chocolates, coffees, teas, skin care, pottery, jewelry, and more. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team and support our store operations in various aspects, including customer service, visual presentation, inventory control, staff development, and store management in the absence of the Manager. Responsibilities:

• Provide superb customer service, assisting customers with their inquiries, providing product information, and building customer rapport;
• Assist with social media marketing on all major platforms;
• Assist in maintaining visual presentation standards, ensuring the store is well-organized, visually appealing, and stocked with a variety of unique and high-quality products;
• Monitor and manage inventory control, including receiving, pricing, and restocking of merchandise;
• Develop store staff by providing training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure exceptional performance and adherence to company standards;
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of store operations in the absence of the Manager, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and staff supervision.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of retail management/supervisory experience is required;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills;
• Strong customer service and rapport-building skills;
• Ability to manage and motivate a team of staff;
• Motivated and energetic, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service;
• Merchandising experience and knowledge of visual presentation standards is an asset.
