GWLRA's Portfolio Reporting Team is a 14-person team under the leadership of The Senior Director, Portfolio Reporting. This team is responsible for providing high levels of Client service to a multitude of internal and external Clients. This Team is broken down into various Client teams which includes:

  • Direct Held Client (Assets owned by Canada Life and Subsidiaries Directly)
  • Segregated Fund Clients (Assets owned with-in a Segregated Fund)
  • Third-Party Clients (Assets Owned by Third Party Clients Managed by GWLRA)
These teams are responsible for providing high levels of support related to both financial and non-financial reporting services to their respective Internal or external Clients.
All the teams interact and provide services to our 9 regional offices across the country, US owned subsidiaries of GWLRA, and the GWLRA Executive team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Reporting, this role will be in the GWLRA Winnipeg office. As GWLRA continues with its growth initiative, we are looking for a strong CPA Designated Individual or student in the late stages of the program, to join the Third-Party Client Reporting Team. This individual will be assigned to a client to provide full cycle accounting of their investments in real estate and play a key role in increasing the efficiency in the delivery of the various Client requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work independently, as well as part of the entire team to deliver on Client requirements and deadlines
  • Preparation of periodic Client and GWLRA Management detailed portfolio reports including Consolidated Financial Statements, variance analysis, budget, forecast, and other non-financial information
  • Prepare detailed cash flow analysis and other Client related cash management in accordance with the applicable management agreements
  • Provide analysis and payment of Client fees into the financial records in accordance with the applicable management agreement
  • Interaction with Winnipeg and Regional teams to ensure accuracy of information provided to Clients
  • Assist in the financial analysis of US GAAP to IFRS differences and record adjustments in the financial statements
  • Assist in the annual audit process over Client Financial Statements
  • Other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Enrollment in final stages of CPA program or CPA designation
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards related to financial reporting
  • Experience in leading or coordinating audit engagements
  • Technical accounting knowledge in IFRS
  • Ability to assess and subsequently deliver on unstructured tasks
  • Superior communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills and customer service
  • Exceptional skills in the use of formulas and functions of Microsoft Excel
  • Handling of confidential information
