John M. Parrott Centre

What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager of Nursing, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Your key responsibilities will include:Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure safe, resident-focused care that meets regulatory and professional standards
Recruitment, development, and performance management of nursing staff, with a focus on PSWs, while addressing staffing needs, workplace incidents, and quality improvement. Collaborate on training, student placements, and committee participation to ensure safe, effective care delivery
Oversee key care-related processes, quality initiatives and activities to support home-wide operations.
Promote positive relationships by addressing concerns and maintaining clear, supportive communication with residents and families
What you will bring:
We are looking for someone who shares our
passion for helping people live their best lives
and brings:Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse with a full scope of practice, and valid CPR/First Aid certification
Certification in Gerontology and Infection Control and experience with accreditation is preferred
Strong clinical nursing and four (4) years of supervisory experience in a long-term care setting
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in resident-centered care approaches, including Psychogeriatric P.I.E.C.E.S., Palliative Care, Pain and Symptom Management, and Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) or similar models
Thorough understanding of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards of practice, Ministry of Health Long-Term Care (LTC) regulations, and current Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Proven planning and leadership skills with the ability to analyze and solve complex problems, manage competing priorities under pressure, and demonstrate a high level of competence, professionalism, and diplomacy
Effective conflict resolution, facilitation and team building skills
Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills with proficiency with electronic health documentation systems
Empathy and sincere commitment to the well-being of all individuals in long-term care, regardless of age
Strong team player, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment, while also able to work independently when needed
Proven ability to attend work regularly and punctually
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector, is a condition of employment
