About the position:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CTS Coquitlam retail location. The successful applicant will assist with staffing, as well as working collaboratively with other retail locations on marketing strategies and inventory management. The Assistant Manager provides a memorable and exciting shopping experience for customers of all ages, and services a large customer base seeking regular skate sharpening.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Hockey background required (player, coach, fan)
At minimum, completion of secondary school
At least 1 year of experience managing in a retail environment, including supervising employees
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills:
Knowledge and passion for ice hockey and/or lacrosse is an asset
Experience and/or knowledge with skate sharpening is an asset
Familiarity with point-of-sale system operations
Basic computer skills (e.g., Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel)
Ability to problem solve
Excellent customer service
Organized
Responsibilities:
Scheduling staff for appropriate coverage
Completes payroll administration and bank deposits
Purchasing, Receiving and Shipping
Determining appropriate store layout and configuration to improve the customer experience
Stocking and merchandising of inventory
Provides excellent customer service in person and over the phone, including identifying appropriate customer needs
Prepares regular updates to head office
Assists customers in Hockey and Lacrosse equipment fitting
Supports with team sales initiatives
Assist in skate sharpening for a large customer base
Involved in community partnerships related to hockey tournaments
Other duties as required
