G.E. Silliker & Sons Ltd., operating as Silliker Glass, has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Maintenance Technician at their Bordon-Carleton location. Silliker Glass sells made to order glass products to dealers throughout Atlantic Canada and has a combined staff of 90 at their Bordon-Carleton, PEI and Beresford, NB locations. As an Assistant Maintenance Technician at Silliker Glass you will assist and report to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Maintenance Supervisor. In the production of glass products Silliker Glass uses equipment unique to the glass industry. Responsibilities will include assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with; \xc2\xb7 The physical inspection of equipment along with preventative maintenance and keep an updated maintenance log for each piece of equipment \xc2\xb7 Maintaining and track usage of an inventory of replacement parts \xc2\xb7 Develop and understanding of the machinery to have it providing the best possible end product \xc2\xb7 Communicate with production staff and investigate production irregularities \xc2\xb7 Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs in a quick and efficient manner \xc2\xb7 Work with production staff and provide them with instructions on machine operation \xc2\xb7 Plan scheduled maintenance shut-down of production equipment in times of low production \xc2\xb7 Assist in the assembly of new equipment and customization of existing equipment Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Education diploma as an Industrial Mechanic or equivalent experience \xc2\xb7 Four to five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in related job \xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills \xc2\xb7 Safety training \xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently or as a team member To succeed in this position you will need to be able to manage multiple projects during a day. You are a self-starter who is organized and can complete tasks in a timely manner. You act ethically, responsibly and professionally in dealing with co-workers, customers, business owners and suppliers.
