Qualifications:


Essential:


• Post secondary education in business administration or a related field, including automotive industry knowledge. A combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
• Knowledge and understanding of the automotive industry and the current trends within the industry
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage constantly changing and conflicting priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with departmental staff, external agencies, and the general public
• Strong written communication skills
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze difficult situations, exercise sound judgment and problem solve
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as contribute to a respectful workplace
• Experience and proficiency using Keys(TM) (fleet management software) or equivalent software applications
• Experience providing exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment
• Experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook or similar software applications
• Strong project management skills
• Experience working independently with a strong ability to take initiative under minimum supervision

Desired:
• Knowledge of VEMA's products and services


Duties:


The Assistant Light Duty Fleet Manager serves as the primary liaison between the client and the Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency (VEMA), with specific focus on ensuring all required documentation in the assignment, procurement, and disposal of capital assets are compliant with agency, departmental and Government of Manitoba policies and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of the light duty vehicle replacement program, long and short-term rentals, vehicle utilization, and disposal. The Assistant Light Duty Fleet Manager manages repair authorization within the designated financial signing authorities to optimize vehicle life cycle and in support of client programs. Lastly, the incumbent works in collaboration with all areas of Light Duty Fleet Management in a supportive administrative role.
