Assistant Lead hand

Position Summary

:

Crafted Projects Corp is looking for a skilled dedicated assistant lead hand to support our growing construction team in Vernon. We are committed to delivering quality residential projects that our clients and team can be proud of. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a full-service subdivision development, with a strong understanding of construction processes. You will report directly to the Site Supervisor and assist in the daily operation, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment, contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the coordination of the ground works (excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling) Assist in the installation of residential underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm sewer systems. Interpret blueprints, civil drawings, and site plans for site crew as discussed with site supervisor. Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and paving machines in a safe and efficient manner as needed. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met and report any malfunctions or issues to management promptly. Collaborate with team members to complete construction projects on time while adhering to safety regulations. Follow all company policies and procedures related to equipment operation and safety. Troubleshoot issues and help maintain workflow.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years' experience on a residential site. Minimum of 3 years' experience operating heavy duty equipment. Effective communicator with solid time-management skills. Strong ability to follow technical plans and drawings with the direction from site supervisor and team members. Ensure all work is executed according to engineer's specifications. Physically able to perform demanding outdoor work in all weathers. Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and reliable daily transportation to and from site daily.

Additional Information

Work primarily based in Vernon, BC, travel to nearby sites may be required from time to time. Preference given to applicants residing locally.
