JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is to assist the Housekeeping Manager in the efficient and effective overall running of the housekeeping department. They are to ensure the comfort of guests in our hotels and lodges by assisting the Housekeeping Manager in the training, coaching and development of the housekeeping team to ensure that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented. They must promote a positive image of the property to guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: People Management Responsibilities
  • Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of staff. Including seasonal supervisors, room attendants, laundry attendants, and common area cleaners.
  • Assisting the Housekeeping Manager in mentoring and monitoring staff.
  • Ensure that the supervisors are keeping their supply and laundry rooms tidied and stocked.
  • Be the main point of contact for the Front Desks and all supervisors.
  • Conduct daily morning meetings with housekeeping staff and assist the seasonal supervisors in organizing staff daily duties.
  • Aid front desk staff, Front Desk Manager and Accommodations Manager when required.
  • Assist in scheduling and payroll.
  • Assist in administering regular performance reviews to all housekeeping staff.
  • Assist with employee engagement by facilitating and participating in staff appreciation and recognition.
Operational and Community Responsibilities
  • Conduct spot checks and work with teams to ensure guest service meets standards.
  • Assist the seasonal supervisors to ensure that all guests rooms are ready for arrival.
  • Have a clear understanding of all unit types in the buildings and understand all amenities.
  • Have a sound understanding of operating instructions for amenities in all guest rooms e.g. fireplace, windows, heaters, TVs etc. and be able to troubleshoot common issues.
  • Have a basic understanding of front desk duties and how the hotel operates.
  • Have a clear understanding of the hotel reservation and housekeeping systems.
  • Ensure all required documents have been completed and filed when necessary.
  • Take weekly inventory and place orders to maintain stock levels.
  • Inform manager immediately of any maintenance issues found in guest rooms or common areas.
  • Inform manager immediately if there are any missing items from guest rooms.
  • Inform manager immediately of any damages to guest units or common areas.
  • Ensure that all replaced items are reported to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Have knowledge of the village and mountain layout to provide accurate information to staff and guests.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office

Hours and Pay
  • Hours 40-50 hours per week.
  • Must be flexible and available all days per week including STAT holidays and weekends.
  • Salary $48,000/Year
