Full-Time Assistant Grocery Team Leader

As the Assistant Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure excellent customer service, drive sales, and supervise team members. You will lead by example and strive to maintain a safe and clean environment while you contribute to the overall success and profitability of the Food Store.

What You Will Do:
Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative's vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
Assist Food Store Team Leader in managing daily department operations.
Supervise and motivate grocery Team Members to meet productivity and customer service goals.
Ensure shelves are fully stocked, clean, and properly labelled.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and rotation of stock.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of grocery aisles and backroom storage.
Help train new Team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Ensure signage, pricing, and promotional displays are accurate and effective.
Assist with scheduling and planning shifts based on business needs.
Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Adhere to and enforce the Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, and training requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who You Will Work With:
Reporting to the Grocery Team Leader, you will play a key support role in managing daily operations, supervising staff, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, and maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation.

Who You Are:
You are looking for a career opportunity in Food Store Management and Customer Service and:
You have your high school diploma or equivalent; 2 + years experience in retail grocery operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
You have experience with inventory management, merchandising, and team supervision.
You have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
You are proficient in basic math and comfortable using point of sale (POS) systems and store management software.
You have knowledge of retail sales strategies, inventory control, and loss prevention practices.
You have strong oral and written communication skills and communicate effectively using multiple communication channels.
You are available to work a flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends are required.
You carry a valid driver's license (class 5 minimum).
You can fulfill physical job requirements including standing for entire shift and being able to lift 25-50 lbs.
