What you'll do:
The Assistant Grocery Manager is responsible for overseeing the grocery department. This includes managing inventory, coordinating product displays, and ensuring that the department meets all merchandising standards. The role also involves training and developing staff, handling customer inquiries, and supporting the Grocery Manager in achieving sales and operational goals.
• Customer Service: Ensures prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Handles inquiries and resolves issues. Identifies areas for improvement and implements strategies. Works with the Grocery Manager to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Inventory Management and Merchandising: Oversees product receiving, display coordination, and inventory levels. Ensures products are stocked, labeled, and priced accurately.
• Sales and Operations: Supports sales targets and operational goals. Analyzes sales data, implements strategies, and ensures efficient department operations. Maintains cleanliness and organization.
• Human Resources and Leadership: Leads the front-end team, sales clerks, and stock clerks. Manages recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and development. Fosters a positive work environment. Demonstrates flexibility with shifts and is on call for urgent situations.

Who you are:

• You have a high school diploma.
• You have 3+ years of relevant customer service experience with 1+ year of leadership experience preferred.
• You're familiar with Safe Food Handling and have leadership, customer service, and operational management skills.
• You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
