Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Grocery Manager to assist the Grocery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our grocery department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. This role requires effective team management, merchandising expertise, and the ability to drive sales while maintaining a well-organised and efficient grocery section.

Duties

Supervise and manage part time grocery staff to ensure high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction. Work with Grocery Manager on inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking products. Implement merchandising strategies to maximise product visibility and sales. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grocery area in compliance with health and safety regulations. Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Experience

Proven experience in retail management, preferably within the grocery sector. Strong supervisory experience with a focus on team management. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Proficient in merchandising techniques and time management skills. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with phone etiquette when dealing with customer inquiries.
