Join us as an Assistant General Manager to lead the ARC restaurant and In Room Dining outlets at Fairmont Waterfront. We\'re looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in revenue growth, upholding standards, and cultivating a luxury service culture. In this role, you\'ll play a pivotal part in daily operations, training for exceptional guest experiences, and driving overall establishment growth.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive revenue and maximize profitability without compromising the guest experience, while collaborating with the marketing team to create enticing promotions and social events that attract new guests and retain loyal patrons
  • Assist General Manager - Food and Beverage Venues, with forecasting accuracy and strategies to strive to achieve financial budget, analyze reports, find growth areas, optimize sales, and reduce costs.
  • Uphold the highest standards of excellence, as set by Forbes and LQA to consistently deliver world-class dining experiences to our guests ensuring that all aspects of the restaurant, from food quality and presentation to service and ambiance, adhere to Forbes\' criteria for luxury and refinement
  • Develop and Implement ongoing training programs to keep the team updated with the latest trends and standards in the culinary and hospitality industry
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, ensuring a positive and motivating work environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous growth and improvement
  • Actively participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program, Planet 21, and determine department-specific action items
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both guests and staff implementing best practices related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety
  • Instill a sense of pride and attention to detail in all aspects of the restaurant\'s operation, emphasizing that every detail, no matter how small, contributes to the overall guest experience
  • Encourage a guest-centric mindset among the team, emphasizing the importance of creating lasting memories for every individual that walks through our doors
  • Empower and support colleagues to resolve guest issues promptly and courteously while looking for opportunities to turn moments into memories
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within a luxury restaurant or hotel setting
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Proven track record in driving revenue and achieving financial targets
  • Strong understanding of Forbes and LQA standards and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards in all aspects of the restaurant\'s operation
  • Ability to work effectively with programs including Microsoft Office, Open Table, Opera and Silverware
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of the local culinary scene and trends
  • Bachelor\'s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred
