ASSISTANT FIELD TECHNICIAN

--Southern and Central Okanagan Positions

Now more than a year into this collaboration, Siya Forestry represents a significant step forward in OIB's long-standing vision to take a more direct and meaningful role in managing its lands. Building on a trusted eight year working relationship with the Infinity-Pacific team, the Siya Forestry partnership is seeking talented individuals to join our group of professionals to assist with opportunities such as but not limited to; Land Management for OIB's existing tenures (NRFL's, FNWL, BCTS Partnership, Woodlot), and current operational agreements with local governments, licensees and small tenure holders (Woodlots/Community Forest).

The Role:

Assisting Lead Engineers with development of cutblocks and roads incorporating FN values and strategies

Assisting in Timber Cruising and Silviculture Surveys

GPS Traversing

Data collection and entry of relevant information relating to engineering and recce projects

Qualifications and Requirements

Successful applicants will be motivated, reliable and effective in a team-based environment

This position is primarily field-based and will require travel and camp shifts depending on home location. Work continues in all weather conditions.

Scope of role will be determined based on experience

Class 5 Driver's License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
