RVYC is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to help lead its hospitality operations and deliver unforgettable experiences for our members and guests. This full-time position works closely with the Food & Beverage Director to oversee daily operations across multiple dining outlets, banquet services, and special events. Your leadership will ensure that every interaction, whether a casual lunch, fine dining service, or large-scale regatta, reflects RVYC's high standards and warm hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Manage and support daily service across multiple outlets, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency. Event Leadership
Oversee service for events, weddings, regattas, and private functions, coordinating with culinary and service teams for flawless execution. Event Planning & Execution
Lead the planning, logistics, staffing, and execution of all food and beverage elements. Team Development
Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule staff to uphold service excellence and foster a positive, engaged team culture. Menu and Beverage Collaboration
Partner with culinary leadership to curate wine lists, seasonal menus, and beverage programs tailored to members' preferences. Cost and Compliance Management
Monitor budgets, control food and labor costs, and ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations, including food safety and self-inspection procedures. Member Experience
Build strong relationships with members, anticipating their needs and personalizing service to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
2 to 3 years of supervisory or management experience in high-end hospitality, with exposure to both daily operations and event execution (private club, hotel, or resort experience preferred)
In-depth knowledge of wine, cocktails, and fine dining service standards
Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certification
Serving It Right and Food Safe certifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Experience with POS system, and cash/card transactions handling
Proven success in managing budgets, scheduling labor, and cost control
Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (both verbal and written)
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and motivational skills; ability to train, supervise and delegate tasks
Ability to foster respectful and collaborative working relationships
Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on detail, quality, and member satisfaction
A passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences
