Job Description

Housing and Campus Connections (HCC) operates and coordinates a wide range of vital campus services, from residence and housing to food service to summer accommodations. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Innovation and Connections, the Assistant Director, Strategic Innovation and Process Excellence will play a crucial role in driving adoption and proficiency with the changes that impact our customers, employees, partners, and stakeholders while helping to build and instill a continuous improvement mindset across the organization using human-centered design, and Lean and Agile methods.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement change management plans, including communication strategies, training programs, stakeholder engagement activities, risk mitigation tactics, and success measurement metrics. Assess the impact of proposed changes on units and stakeholders and develop strategies to manage impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure change initiatives align with business goals and integrate seamlessly with existing processes. Engage with and coach leaders and managers to drive change leadership and support their teams through transitions.
  • Act as Project Manager for small to medium scale internal projects and liaise with external project managers (where applicable) and external implementation expertise where applicable (e.g., process design subject matter experts, technology partners, etc.).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive customer-centric strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. This includes conducting customer research, identifying pain points, leading cross-functional teams, designing initiatives, and managing rollout and ongoing assessments.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of technology services, projects, and programs of significant scope and complexity. Analyze contract performance and financial implications to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and optimize business opportunities. Facilitate dispute resolution related to contracts, working closely with legal counsel.
  • Lead training and development for HCC. Oversee all training and development activities and identify the business's developmental needs to ensure consistency with core competencies and goals. Monitor and ensure achievement of results within approved training budgets.

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, business management, organizational development, or a related field plus approximately five to seven years relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Progressive experience in operations, project management, and change management with proven experience leading organizational change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven and fast-paced team environment, and independently manage multiple concurrent projects and activities with shifting conditions and priorities.
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written), interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk identification skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development within all aspects of the portfolio.
Assets
  • Certifications in Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt), Lean methodologies, or similar.
  • Change management certifications, such as Prosci Change Management Certification, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), or similar.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Expert Certification and experience with ITIL processes, including Service Portfolio Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Continual Service Improvement.
  • Masters degree in computer science, business management, organizational development, or a related field.
