Overview


Join Little Kitchen Academy Richmond Olympic Oval, a Montessori-inspired cooking school for kids, as our Assistant Director. We're looking for a dynamic, community-focused leader who thrives on building relationships, driving sales, and managing operations. The ideal candidate has a hospitality background, strong leadership skills, and fluency in Mandarin. Duties

(including but not limited to):

Act as a community ambassador and build strong local relationships with schools, families, and community partners. Demonstrate LKA's Core Beliefs (Health, Delight, Joy, Mindfulness, Learning, Empowerment, Inspiration) Drive enrollment and support sales initiatives with creativity and determination. Oversee employee management including discovering, interviewing, hiring, training, supporting, and standards of excellence. Plan and manage community events and local outreach. Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring classes and staff run smoothly. Communicate with LKA families to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns (email communications). Support class setup and turnover. Oversee and coordinate ingredient purchasing for each class. Manage payroll reports and submit to accounting biweekly. Work within LKA budget/guidelines and submit records on time; monitor inventory, manage budgets, and optimize resource allocation. Ensure compliance with health, fire, and sanitation standards. Maintain accuracy and organization in our registration and operational software systems. Participate in 5 classes per week (minimum) as lead, support, or environment instructor; Covering shifts if unexpected absences in staffing occur. Manage and adjust Seasonal Curriculum Plan to support allergies, preferences and special needs. Manage and actively engage on social media platforms including WeChat, Little Red Book, and other community channels.

Requirements



Fluent in Mandarin (

required

); Cantonese is an asset. Previous management experience in hospitality, including scheduling, payroll, hiring, and budgets is

required

. First-aid/CPR/AED Certified including for children and Food Handler (Foodsafe) certifications. Clear Criminal Background Check. Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Child Development, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or Montessori education

preferred

. Previous experience in childcare, education,

preferred

. Previous experience in food service, personal chef, catering, or restaurant is

preferred

. Mathematical Skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, and ability to read a scale. Ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets, and operational tasks.

Physical Requirements



Continuous standing and moving throughout an eight hour shift. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, push and pull.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
