Reporting to the Director of Finance, the

Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting

oversees payroll processing, income audits, A/R, AP and F&B Controls and overall full cycle accounting and financial operations. This role involves implementing and managing controls and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to support informed management decisions. The position also includes recommending corrective actions, guiding accounting activities, and providing daily administrative support to achieve departmental goals.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:



Leadership & Communication



Lead and motivate the Finance team through effective communication, collaboration, and recognition of performance. Uphold integrity and professionalism; lead by example in promoting sound financial and business decision-making. Establish open, collaborative relationships across departments and ensure consistent application of property policies and procedures. Clearly communicate financial concepts and results to executives, managers, and staff to drive informed decision-making. Act as the Director of Finance's back-up, assuming leadership responsibilities during their absence.

Financial Management & Reporting



Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, forecasts, and budgets. Review and analyze P&L statements to ensure proper revenue and cost allocations and timely reporting. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank and payroll reconciliations, ensuring all balances are supported by appropriate documentation. Oversee payroll processing, journal entries, accruals, and related reconciliations; ensure accuracy of gratuities and statutory deductions. Support monthly closing and annual budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.

Compliance & Controls



Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company SOPs. Ensure adherence to tax regulations and proper collection, accrual, and remittance of applicable taxes. Oversee and support internal, external, and regulatory audit processes; review and resolve audit findings promptly. Safeguard company assets by supporting a strong control environment and risk management practices. Ensure all permits, licenses, and vendor contracts are current and compliant with regulations.

Technology & Systems



Leverage technology and accounting systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities. Maintain technical proficiency and stay updated on financial systems, tools, and best practices.

Administrative & Other Duties



Provide financial guidance and policy support to department heads to ensure effective resource management. Prepare and submit financial reports and required documentation within established deadlines. Supervise, train, and develop Accounting Associates to ensure high standards of performance. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Finance or Executive Committee.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:



Education and Experience



4-year bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting or related major (CPA Preferred), or equivalent work experience in in hotel accounting in GL, AP, AR, must include Payroll experience. Experience in other hospitality related departments required Good working knowledge of hotel computer and payroll systems Advanced level ADP experience. Advance MS Office skills required with the ability to write macros Second language an asset.

Skills and Abilities



Strong accounting, financial and analytical skills are essential. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Highly motivated, results and team oriented. Proven organizational skills required. Proven ability to multi task and takes direction well. Able to work in fast-paced environment and work independently.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $67,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
