Omnitrans is currently searching for an Assistant Credit Manager to join our Finance division in Montreal.

This person will support the Credit Manager in day-to-day activities by monitoring team priorities, resolving escalated or problem accounts, and ensuring smooth workflow and act as the Manager's right hand by assisting in the overall management of team operations, helping to maintain efficiency and performance across the department.



Responsibilities :



Provides support to the manager in overseeing team operations, including assisting with performance reviews, coaching & training team members, onboarding new employees, serving as a backup during the manager's absence, and acting as a point of contact during emergencies. Review, on a daily basis, accounts with collectors to ensure that collection calls are made on a timely manner. Establish credit limits and review existing limits based on financial credit analysis and risk evaluation (loan, liquidity, credit line, financial history, etc.). Investigate and resolve disputes & short payments with concerned departments; apply corrections to accounts; request credit notes for readjusted bills, enter the information into the computer system to settle the account. Inquire, answer and explain the provenance of charges and justification of amounts to clients and staff (possess all the back-up documentation of the charges). Conduct collection calls of problem accounts; contact clients; negotiate with clients for payment; may have to hold shipment. Perform month end reconciliation of K84 (Imports) & GST. Carm portal verification of delegation and SOA reconciliation when required Assist with credit screen approval. Perform monthly ACH reconciliation. Solicit/convert clients to direct security program for Canada & USA. Managing the invoicing of importer bonds with Surety Supervises and coordinates accounts receivable activities, ensuring an accurate accounts receivable system. Develops work schedules, assigns duties, and reviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies.

What you bring:



At least a completion of college diploma in Finance More than 5 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable department Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to credit Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with credit management software or ERP systems is an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proven ability to handle sensitive situations and resolve conflicts Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is a plus Bilingual (French, English)
