Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Cook with some cleaning duties to join our seasonal Cat Island Lodge team. We are located on Cat Island, a short 20-minute flight from Red Lake, ON. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. This position is essential in upholding our standards of hospitality and cleanliness, making it vital for the overall guest experience.

Tips are also available in addition to daily wage.

Responsibilities

Assist the Kitchen manager in preparing meals for the guest on a daily basis Help with meal planning and preparation of food Help serve and wait on guests in a professional and kind manner Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including guest cabins, and main lodge. Utilize industrial cleaning equipment and supplies to ensure high standards of cleanliness. Follow established cleaning protocols to maintain hygiene and safety standards. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly. Assist with laundry services as needed, ensuring linens are cleaned and stocked appropriately. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries or requests related to housekeeping. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations within the hospitality environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience cooking for large groups Previous experience in industrial cleaning, custodial work, or hotel housekeeping is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning chemicals is a plus. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members. A commitment to providing high-quality service in a hospitality setting.
