Summary:

As Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for financial reporting and detailed financial analysis using Power BI.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do:

  • Preparing both monthly internal financial reports including actual vs. budget analysis and external quarterly and annual financial statements and schedules, including but not limited to consolidated balance sheet, statement of earnings, statement of cashflow, detailed Accounts Receivable/Payable analysis and Operating Expenses analysis.
  • Leading the annual statutory financial audit, liaising with external auditors and managing the audit progress.
  • Championing and engaging the finance team on process improvement and analysis using power BI.
  • Championing the ERP system as administrator and managing any system changes.
  • Other projects as assigned.
  • Owner for accounting and finance policies and procedures documentation repository.
  • Assisting the controllers in providing financial leadership for both Norsat and Sinclair division, mentoring other finance team members and be seen as a clear leader in their absence.
  • Serving as back up for key finance responsibilities, such as controllership functions and payroll processing.
  • Assisting the controllers in internal controls development and maintenance.
  • Coordinating the financial accounting functions for both Norsat and Sinclair and ensuring standardization across the divisions.
What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring:
  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably a combination of public practice and public company industry experience
  • Experience with multi-companies and multi-currencies transaction
  • Experience with large ERP systems, preferably Navision and Business Central
  • Advanced Power BI skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to speak and read Chinese (Mandarin) would be considered an asset
  • Positive working attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Team player and able to initiate corrective action in a positive manner
