Position
Overview
Taseko Mines is at an exciting inflection point in its growth story. With the Florence Copper Project advancing toward production, we are transforming from a single-asset operator to a diversified, multi-asset copper producer. To support this next phase of growth, we are strengthening the finance team in our Vancouver corporate office. We are seeking a career-oriented, ambitious Assistant Controller, Corporate, to support the senior management team in the following areas:External and internal financial reporting, analysis, and consolidation processes
Researching technical IFRS accounting topics
Oversight of internal controls
Assisting tax, treasury, and corporate finance functions
Core Responsibilities
Own the preparation and accuracy of consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS
Prepare and review financial statements for corporate (non-operating) legal entities
Lead accounting and reporting for corporate-level financings, including debt, leases, and equity transactions
Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies for all revenue streams; prepare and provide revenue entries to sites
Coordinate the corporate and consolidated tax provision process with external advisors and ensure appropriate recording in the corporate records
Oversee interpretation and application of IFRS for corporate matters including consolidation, financial instruments, and equity
Lead the corporate month-end close, including eliminations, intercompany activity, and journal entries
Manage corporate intercompany accounting and cross-border funding transactions
Lead the corporate audit processes and manage corporate audit deliverables
Maintain and document internal controls over corporate and consolidation processes in accordance with SOX
Oversee corporate-level financial systems design, including reporting tools and consolidation frameworks
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate finance related field
CPA (or equivalent) designation
5 to 10 years of progressive finance experience with career ambition to grow with a rapidly growing organization
Extensive IFRS financial reporting experience with technical proficiency in complex topic areas
Mining or natural resource industry and public company work experience preferred
Minimum 3 years in public practice, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm
Skills & Competencies
Strong MS Office and computer skills with an emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, etc.)
Experience using SAGE 300, 4Site, or any other accounting software is an advantage
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritize competing assignments
Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively within established timelines
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
