We're seeking a driven and detail-oriented

Assistant Controller

to support and enhance our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, this key role involves hands-on oversight of day-to-day accounting functions, ERP implementation support, and helping drive the financial success of the companies. This position will be based out of the Canoe Forest Products Ltd. division in Salmon Arm, BC.


RESPONSIBILITIES:




Manage the day-to-day activities of the department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales invoicing, and office administration functions. Prepare month-end, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Adhere to divisional accounting and internal control systems in coordination with the corporate office. Assisting with annual budgets, forecasting, year-end audits, and tax compliance requirements Maintaining various schedules such as fixed assets, amortization schedules, supporting schedules, and month[1]end adjusting entries. Collaborate with operations to create budgets and forecasts aligned with organizational goals. Supporting the implementation of a new SAP S4/HANA system.

QUALIFICATIONS:




Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA designation (or working towards completion) is preferred. 3-5 years' progressive accounting experience. Valid Class 5 driver's license. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

SALARY RANGE:

We offer a competitive compensation package based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
