Job Description



WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Assistant, Communications will be a member of the communications team and will assist in several communications and media relations initiatives.

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Communications department
  • Assist in the collection and selection of photography for all print and electronic communications and maintain photo database for organization
  • Work with digital team, produce and publish content for Tennis Canada and National Bank Open websites
  • Research, write, and edit media releases and advisories
  • Produce daily media watch news clippings
  • Manage media credential application and acceptance process with the help of the coordinator
  • Assist in the content creation and production of National Bank Open, fan and media guides
  • Assist with management of team of volunteers and summer staff during tournament
  • Assist with set-up and operations of professional, working media center, and provide world-class service to both national and international media members
  • Assist with all other PR initiatives
WHO ARE YOU?
  • Post-secondary degree in Public Relations/Communications or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working in communications, sports, or journalism
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Capacity to work independently as well as a team player
  • Show tact, great work ethic, professionalism
  • Knowledge of tennis
  • Bilingual French (asset)
