Upper Bench Estate Winery & Creamery, located in Penticton, BC, at the gateway to the Naramata Bench, pairs artisan wine with hand-crafted cheese for a unique tasting experience. We are seeking an

Assistant Cheesemaker

to join our hardworking team, working alongside Senior Cheesemaker Shana Miller to craft many varieties of cheese, including washed-rind, brie, and blue.

Qualifications:

Passion for artisan cheesemaking Experience in cheesemaking or food production Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills Ability to follow sanitary cheesemaking guidelines Physically fit (able to lift 50 lbs) Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent time management and ability to work independently

Responsibilities:

Assist in cheesemaking, aging, and quality control Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and cheese caves Maintain accurate production records Handle and work safely with food-grade chemicals Operate in a warm, humid environment Wrap, cut, label, and price cheese Occasionally attend farmers' markets and special events Weekend and evening work may be required Additional opportunities within Upper Bench may be available
