Assistant Bakery Manager
to help oversee operations in our Bakery Department. In this dynamic role, you'll support the Bakery Manager in supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards. Responsibilities:
Assist in managing daily operations, including customer service, production scheduling and management, order management, and ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders
Train staff on day-to-day expectations, including following recipes, production sheets, quality standards, sweep log, temp logs, and customer service best practices.
Set daily tasks for staff and follow up to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards
Support the Manager in identifying and implementing strategies to enhance departmental efficiencies
Monitor inventory levels, prioritize products nearing expiry
Ensure orders are completed on time and accurately; verify invoices and pricing when orders arrive
Participate in monthly inventory counts with the Manager
Ensure high product quality and freshness by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to production standards.
Promote health and safety among the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols and Canadian regulations, as well as safe food handling practices.
Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide product recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
Ensure proper labeling and pricing, timely order completion, attractive displays, full shelves, and exploration of cross-merchandising opportunities; research new products and collaborate for effective rotation and stocking.
Perform a range of bakery duties, as needed, including duties typical of Baker, Bakery Clerk, and Supervisor roles, adapting to changing needs and supporting the team.
Terms of Employment:
Permanent Full-Time (30 hrs/week), including weekends and holidays
Wage/Salary:
$53,150 to $58,240 annually (depending on experience)

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience: 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a bakery or food retail environment
Language of Work: English (Bilingual - French/English is an asset)

Anticipated Start Date: August 4, 2025
Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will pay for the one-time round-trip transportation costs of the successful candidate to our location and back to the successful candidates permanent residence at the end of the applicable work period.
