Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) invites applications for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Public Health, expected to begin January 1, 2026. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach in areas such as epidemiology, health promotion, and health policy.
Maintain an active research program, pursuing external funding and student supervision.
Engage in academic advising, mentorship, and service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of public health theory and practice, including epidemiology, health promotion, environmental health, and health policy.
Applied understanding of public health inspection practices and standards consistent with CIPHI certification.
Ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences in small class settings.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse audiences including students, colleagues, and community partners.
A collaborative, collegial approach to working with faculty, staff, and students across disciplines.
Demonstrated potential to build community partnerships and contribute to knowledge mobilization in public health.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Masters or PhD in Public Health or closely related field (ABD considered if defense is imminent).
Current certification with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI), or eligibility for certification, is required.
Demonstrated or emerging excellence in university level teaching and a strong potential for research productivity.
Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research, especially in areas of community health,
* Experience working with community partners, Indigenous communities, or applied public health settings considered an asset.
