$81,591 - $96,078 annually (equivalent to $44.83 - $52.79/hour)


Position Summary




Reporting to the Senior Administrator, and as a member of the senior management team, the Assistant Administrator is responsible for providing direct support to the Senior Administrator in all matters related to 'Na?mg?is operations including, but not limited to, liaison with the senior management team and external and government agencies, and providing direct oversight of and support to the Administration support team, including Receptionist/Membership Administrator, Administrative Assistants, Custodians and casual workers.


'Na?mg?is Administration is responsible for providing oversight and support for the Child and Family Services, Education, Natural Resources, Communications, Lands and Infrastructure, 'Namgis Business Development Corp, Accounting, and Health Departments. The Assistant Administrators will each be assigned a portfolio of selected departments and functions, ensuring balanced and effective oversight across the organization. Each Assistant Administrator will be accountable for coordinating with their respective departments, supporting Directors in achieving work plan goals, and ensuring compliance with NFN policies and reporting requirements. Both Assistant Administrators will report to the Senior Administrator on the progress of their portfolios through the annual work plan process. Portfolio assignments may be reviewed and adjusted as organizational needs and staffing structures evolve.


Job Responsibilities




Assisting the Senior Administrator in developing and implementing the annual work plan Developing and implementing an annual work plan to the Senior Administrator for approval Liaising and working directly with Directors to ensure work plan goals, objectives and updates are delivered in a timely manner Ensuring related departmental, program/project compliance with 'Na?mg?is policies and procedures, including records management, and related guidelines and reporting requirements Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of related operating budgets and ensuring efficiencies as identified are reported and acted upon Directing, overseeing and evaluating all activities related to the operations of the Administration teams, including performance management Acting on behalf of the Senior Administrator as their designate during absences or as required Attending Council and Membership meetings and representing the Senior Administrator as required Liaison with 'Na?mg?is First Nation Council Committees as required Liaising and/or acting on behalf of the Senior Administrator with federal and provincial government agencies, other First Nations, Indigenous organizations, and local governments and agencies as required Ensuring that all related questions and requests for information are addressed in a timely manner Coordinating and following up on Director's meetings Chairing Post-Secondary Committee and Housing Committee meetings as required Coordinating the election process for Chief and Council Other related duties may be required from time to time

Job Qualifications




University degree in a related field or, a combination of education and experience Three (3) years' experience in a senior management position with a First Nations organization Working knowledge of Federal and Provincial funding guidelines and reporting requirements Experience with developing and implementing project proposals and workplans Demonstrated performance management skills including conflict resolution Intermediate communications skills, written and verbal Intermediate working knowledge of budget development and administration Intermediate computer skills including MS Office - Excel and PowerPoint

Other Requirements




Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Ability to travel as required. Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle.
