Job Description

Reporting to the Asset Protection Supervisor, you will be part of the Asset Protection Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

\xc2\xb7 Traffic Control Operator of Haulage Road intersections;

\xc2\xb7 Control and direct Light vehicles on active Haulage Roads ensruing rights-of-way on and through the intersections are adhered to within the defined limits;

\xc2\xb7 Use specific Traffic Controller operating rules, instructions and techniques, this position ensures that vehicles clear the intersection safely while considering the approach of Haulage Road Vehicles and equipment to minimize delays to operations;

\xc2\xb7 Maintain alertness at all times;

\xc2\xb7 Monitor and warn oncoming traffic of potential hazards;

\xc2\xb7 Communicate effectively with other mine employees and Traffic Controllers using established procedures and radio equipment to ensure the understanding of instructions;

\xc2\xb7 Assist in Security Execution operations, coordinate and respond to all site-based emergencies;

\xc2\xb7 Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, trespassing and any other actions that may disrupt the safe and secure operations of the mine site;

\xc2\xb7 Assist in training surrounding the execution of Security related activities ensuring competency and functionality of all Critical Controls relevant to the work;

\xc2\xb7 Administrative duties including but not limited to all related daily documentation;

\xc2\xb7 Maintain compliance of all security processes and procedures;

\xc2\xb7 Conduct any additional security related tasks or posts as directed by the Detour Lake Mine Asset Protection Management.

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 A valid Private Security and Investigative Services Issued Security Guard License;

\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience is preferred. Security training at an accredited institution considered an asset;

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Industrial environment is an asset;

\xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills in daily interactions;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal, written and listening skills;

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to maintain concentration and mental alertness in a variety of situations;

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure;

\xc2\xb7 Basic computer skills;

\xc2\xb7 Valid G2 Ontario driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean driving record;

\xc2\xb7 This job will require working in all types of weather, including snow, rain, and heat;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

\xc2\xb7 Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
