Position: Asset Protection Officer Department: Asset Protection Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days off Location: Renard Mine Posting date: 1 to 24 mars 2023
You are currently a student or graduate in police training or industrial and commercial security, this offer is intended for you. The Stornoway Diamonds are looking for candidates to fill a Cadet Asset Protection Officer position for the 2023 summer season (May to August). The selected candidates must be students or graduates in police academy training or industrial and commercial security. Reporting to the Asset Protection Coordinator, you will contribute to the success of the organization by having the responsibilities of carrying out preventive patrols on foot or by vehicle, issuing road safety warnings. If necessary, be assigned to write complaints, take charge of search and access control activities. More concretely, you ensure that the general safety of the mining site is maintained.
What do you need to succeed?

• You have more than 350 hours of training, a diploma in private security, an college diploma in industrial security, or a police technique;

• You have a permanent BSP permit in private security guarding in Quebec (essential criteria);

• You have a minimum of 3 years (3000 hours) of experience in security, in the military or in law enforcement;

• You communicate very well in French and English;

• You have knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Power Point and Word;

• You are recognized for your ability to analyze requests and provide viable solutions;

• You demonstrate unquestionable integrity, maturity and confidentiality;

• You enjoy teamwork and are interested in working in a multicultural environment.

Will be considered an asset:

• Previous experience in a mining environment;

• Experience in handling CCTV and X-Ray surveillance equipment;

• Knowledge of security and risk management (principles, systems and associated technologies).
