We are seeking an Asset Manager

for the Fort McKay Metis Nation!



The Opportunity:


Fort McKay Metis Nation is seeking an Asset Manager with strong project management, administration, and strategic insight to oversee community assets, including housing, fleet, equipment, projects, and insurance. The Role:

The Asset Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of Community Housing, Fleet Vehicles, Equipment, Projects, and Insurance. This role requires strong project management skills, supervision, administrative expertise (including permitting and reporting), and the ability to provide strategic feedback to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities



Housing Management:



Oversee the housing portfolio, including budget development, short- and long-term planning, and alignment with strategic goals. Monitor property operations and coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance. Liaise with municipal authorities to secure necessary permits and licenses. Conduct site inspections, assess capital improvement needs, and recommend replacements. Engage with stakeholders, vendors, and residents to ensure effective communication. Develop and manage detailed budgets for housing operations and projects. Lead project teams, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Address resident concerns, working alongside the Executive Director to achieve optimal solutions. Maintain insurance documentation and related records for all housing assets.

Fleet Management:



Oversee the full lifecycle of all FMMN-owned vehicles and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency. Manage vehicle licensing, registration, insurance, and scheduled maintenance. Assess fleet lifecycle and propose renewal or replacement plans. Monitor vehicle performance, track records, and recommend improvements. Ensure driver safety compliance and implement risk management measures. Oversee fuel card system in collaboration with the Finance department. Recommend and coordinate training on fleet safety and best practices.

Insurance Management:



Oversee all aspects of organizational insurance, ensuring proper coverage of assets. Regularly verify and update insurance policies to align with current assets. Collaborate with the Finance team to optimize cost-effective insurance strategies. Act as the primary liaison with insurance providers and policyholders. Qualifications

Competencies & Skills:



The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to interpret housing and lot diagrams/plans. Proven experience managing projects ranging from $5K to $500K. Expertise in budgeting, expense tracking, and financial oversight. Demonstrated success in leading teams and achieving operational goals. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.

Education & Experience:



5+ years of experience in housing, fleet, and insurance management or a related field. A diploma, degree, or business-related qualification is an asset. Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.

Schedule:



Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, Fridays, 8:30am - 2pm
