Nova Scotia Power is seeking a dedicated and experienced Asset Management System Governance Lead to join our team.
The Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team works to design and deploy processes, tools and strategies to ensure the reliable operation of NS Power's core generating, transmission and distribution assets to enable improved planning and risk-based decision-making, in support of strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Asset Planning, the Asset Management System Governance Lead will ensure continued alignment with the Asset Management Policy and ISO 55000 standards. The successful candidate will support regulatory filings and internal processes, similar to safety or environmental management system compliance functions.
This role ensures governance of the Asset Management System for internal/external parties such as the Nova Scotia Energy Board (NSEB) and loss control service providers, supporting Nova Scotia Power through various engagements. The role also ensures Nova Scotia Power benefits from asset management practices through normalized risk-based decision-making.
Key elements of this role include:

• Expand and update Asset Management System Documents, including the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), Asset Management Playbook, SOPs, and Annual Senior Management Reporting. Manage SharePoint or other interfaces for organizational access and use of AM System documents.
• Ensure regulatory deliverables align with the Asset Management Policy and supporting processes and documentation.
• Facilitate AM internal audits starting in 2026, an annual activity.
• Monitor and continuously improve AM internal processes to ensure alignment with policy and asset management fundamentals.
• Collaborate with the EAM Team, Energy Delivery, Power Production, IT Leadership, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment and update strategic plans and regulatory filings.
• Communicate with the Nova Scotia Energy Board and other regulatory bodies to demonstrate AM approach and provide data/evidence for evaluations.
• Identify areas for improvement in risk-based decision-making, asset management process alignment, and communication.
• Review innovative tools to enhance the company's asset condition and risk calculation frameworks.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:

• You hold a post-secondary degree; an Engineering degree is preferred.
• You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience, with 10 years preferred.
• An Asset Management Certification is preferred.
• You are comfortable leading governance and compliance programs, particularly with regulatory bodies such as the NSEB.
• You are highly organized, analytical, and able to manage complex documentation and processes.
• You have excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively across functions, building strong relationships and credibility through your work.
• You are a self-starter who identifies areas for process improvement and implements changes that align with organizational strategy.
