Reporting to the Manager of Asset Management and Technical Services, the Asset Management Coordinator will oversee the lifecycle management of infrastructure assets, coordinate the development and implementation of Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) Plans and Level of Service (LoS), lead asset inventory, data and records management, and condition assessment and monitoring. Lead the development and updating of design and construction standards and specifications by coordinating with various teams in FMD.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and updating of IAM plans for major asset classes that define lifecycle strategies and service expectations.
  • Coordinate the development of LoS standards to define desired performance and expectations.
  • Coordinate the development and annual updating of: 3-year Capital Maintenance Renewal (CMR) Plan; Annual Capital Program - Capital Renovations, Furniture, and Major Maintenance; and Capital Plan for major projects for submission to the Government of Alberta (BLIMS)
  • Assist in implementing and updating a centralized IAM system.
  • Maintain a comprehensive infrastructure asset inventory. Ensure accuracy and completeness of asset records, including condition, location, maintenance history, value, etc.
  • Coordinate building inspections and assessments.
  • Review building evaluation reports and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Update GOA's VFA system for planned and completed works.
  • Lead the development and updating of Design and Construction Standards and Specifications by coordinating with various teams in FMD.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of record drawings and as-builts.
  • Manage, organize, provide access, and maintain all asset-related documents.
  • Support the implementation and updating of IAM Policy & Strategy.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure asset management principles, lifecycle management techniques, asset condition assessment and analysis, and program optimization techniques. Familiarity with asset management standards (e.g., ISO 55000) and industry best practices.
  • Experience with asset management software and document control systems.
  • Understanding of building systems and facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to develop and manage multi-year capital programs (prioritized projects with proposed budgets).
  • Strong analytical skills to assess asset performance and generate reports, with proficiency in MS suite programs or equivalents for reporting, data entry and analysis.
  • Knowledge of document control procedures, standards creation, and quality assurance to ensure accurate and up-to-date asset documentation.
  • Knowledge in Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for creating and managing digital representations of physical assets, integrating asset data into BIM models for effective asset tracking.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in asset management.
  • A Diploma/Certificate in Asset Management is considered an asset.
  • APEGA Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification is an asset; Equivalent out-of-province credentials with eligibility for E.I.T. or C.E.T. registration will be considered.
  • Experience with asset management programs and software is an asset
  • Experience with BIM, Revit, or CMMS is an asset.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
Remuneration: $73,219.38 - $98,379.58 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Senior Project Coordinator).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
