The Opportunity
Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity within the Canada Business Unit (CBU), seeking a Asset Integrity Engineer/Technologist Consultant. Based in Calgary, AB, this role will report directly to the Team Lead, Asset Integrity and be an integral part of the CBU. The successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s mission is to maximize the value of Vermilion\xe2\x80\x99s assets, while providing asset integrity oversight, technical expertise, ensuring regulatory requirements are met and balancing risk and operational priorities. The successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s main goal will be to maintain and improve the performance of Vermilion Asset Integrity Management Programs and ensure alignment of individual goals to asset integrity team goals and CBU priorities.
This is a contract position with Vermilion Energy. The successful candidate will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.
What you will do
Provide technical support relating to pipelines, downhole and surface equipment integrity
Provide technical expertise in the areas of corrosion control & monitoring, root cause failure analysis and incident investigation, pipeline risk assessment, inspection, and pipeline repair
Assist the Asset Integrity Advisors with the planning and coordination of annual field integrity review meetings
Assist in data gathering and completion of asset integrity key performance indicators
Assist with pipeline engineering assessments
Assist the Asset Integrity Advisors and Inspectors with the planning of annual pipeline ROW surveys, cathodic protection surveys, inline inspection and dig program, and pressure equipment/tank inspection program
Support asset integrity projects and ensure adoption of the MOC process and VODP (Vermilion Opportunity Development Process) where applicable
Liaison with jurisdictional authorities regarding regulatory matters
Participate in due diligence record reviews and provide recommendations related to acquisitions and divestitures
Gain understanding of Vermilion\xe2\x80\x99s integrity management programs \xe2\x80\x93 POMM, PEIMS
Become familiar with Vermilion assets, personnel and on-going programs
Participate in internal and external regulatory audits.
What you will bring
Intermediate engineer or technologist with 5 to 10 years of asset integrity experience, preferably with an upstream operating company
Demonstrated experience with pipeline, and pressure equipment & tank integrity management programs
High degree of familiarity with industry codes, standards, regulations and best practices:
Alberta and Saskatchewan pipeline and pressure equipment acts and regulations, including ABSA , TSASK, AER and MER directives and requirements.
CSA, ASME and API codes and standards
Strong operational knowledge of upstream pipeline infrastructure and surface facilities
Knowledge and experience with safe work practices in oil and gas production
Highly motivated, and pro-active, with high attention to technical details
Proven ability to balance appropriate technical work and deliver business value
Must be able to work collaboratively in large, multi-disciplinary teams
Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain partnerships
Effective verbal and written communication skills with acute attention to detail
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a deadline driven environment
Diploma in a relevant engineering technology or engineering degree and registered with ASET (C.E.T or P,Tech.(Eng.) or APEGA - P. Eng or P.L.(Eng.). or EIT

ASBA In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspector
NACE CP-1 or 2
NACE Corrosion Technologist
