What is an Assessment Officer?

As an Assessment Officer, you are part of our dynamic Assessment group that conducts environmental and socio-economic assessments throughout Yukon. This includes identifying project effects and mitigation measures for significant adverse effects and developing recommendations. Work contributions will also include participation in public forums as needed, as well as the ability to develop, foster and maintain multidisciplinary relationships.

YESAB consists of 6 Designated Offices throughout the Yukon Territory:

  • Teslin
  • Haines Junction
  • Mayo
  • Dawson City
  • Whitehorse
YESAB\'s Head Office is located in downtown Whitehorse.

We are looking to fill two permanent Assessment Officer positions, working in or , Yukon

Candidates must be able and willing to relocate to either location if successful.

What is an Assessment Officer - Intake?

This competition will be utilized to assess the knowledge, skills and abilities of candidates who apply for the Assessment Officer position.

As part of this recruitment process candidates may be required to complete a work simulation exercise, as well as an oral interview, to assess proper job fit and ability.

Candidates that certify through this recruitment processes may be eligible for term and/or permanent Assessment Officer positions, in any of the YESAB office locations, if they are to come available within 6-months of the recruitment process.

Candidates that obtain employment are expected to work in the location of their specified designated office.
