The Assembly Line Lead supports the Assembly Line Supervisor in managing day-to-day operations on the production floor. This role serves as a working lead hand overseeing workflow, guiding team members, and ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The Lead also acts as a backup supervisor during absences or peak production periods, providing continuity of leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily production schedules and ensuring workstations are set up efficiently.
Monitor production flow and promptly address minor issues to keep lines running smoothly.
Act as the first point of contact for assemblers with questions, concerns, or task clarification.
Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and guidance to employees to build skill and efficiency.
Step into the Supervisor's role during absences (e.g., breaks, vacations, meetings) to ensure leadership coverage.
Support with basic administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, reporting, and shift handover notes.
Inspect output to verify quality standards are met before moving products downstream.
Reinforce safety protocols and escalate safety concerns to the Supervisor or Safety Coordinator.
Report performance or operational issues back to the Supervisor for follow-up.
Add Ensure proper use, care, and reporting of tools, equipment, and materials.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, including reducing downtime and waste.
Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
Help with workforce allocation, including reassigning staff to priority tasks during bottlenecks.
Support in onboarding new hires to ensure smooth integration into the team.
