Talon Recruiting has partnered with a growing agricultural equipment distributor in search of Assemblers with Millwright skills and experience to join their team in Alliston, ON.Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the position is responsible for the assembly, installation, and inspection of specialized vegetable equipment product lines.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:Exemplifies and promotes company core values: Respect for Others, a Spirit to Serve and Continuous Improvement.
Understands company's vision and how the Assembler/Installer can assist in achieving it.
Assembles and fabricates mechanical parts to meet required specifications, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment
Reads, interprets, and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
Performs preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
Responsible for trouble shooting, calibration and repair of equipment, electrical troubleshooting
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Displays high quality of workmanship and professional image at all times.
Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Ensures adherence to Health & Safety policies and applicable legislation including working in a safe manner at all times.EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Post-secondary education trade or college diploma
1 2 years assembly experience required
Strong knowledge of and experience with specialized vegetable handling equipment and electrical systems is an asset
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
Manual dexterity, high attention to details performing work accurately and thoroughly
Strong problem solving skills, related to troubleshooting equipment issues
Ability to work independently, to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
Strong customer service skills and sense of urgency when servicing customer requirements
Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong computer skills
Ability to travel for periods of time to customer sites is a strong asset
Valid drivers license and clean abstract
Valid passport
Forklift certification
Availability for travel
