Ace Enterprises and CR Enterprises are family owned and operated construction companies in Yellowknife, NT, with nearly 50 combined years operating. We are in immediate need of an Asphalt Plant Operator to work for the 2023 Construction Season, approximate end of October 2023. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Working at the quarry
• Safely operate and maintain asphalt plant and construction equipment.
• Ensure the Plant is operational and running at the proper temperature.
• Perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment, identify and correct unsafe conditions. Ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Preventative maintenance, service and housekeeping as needed.
• Make adjustments to material blends as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of all mix materials.
• Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed.
• Set up, tear down, and calibrate plant.
• Assist asphalt or other construction crews as needed.
• May supervise and train other employees.
• Work with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
• Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as needed.
• Maintain good customer relations with customers on an ongoing basis.
• Possess initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions as requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 or more years of Asphalt Plant Operator experience.
• Experience leading Asphalt programs and crews deemed an asset.
• Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
• High Focus on Safety

• High attention to detail
• Ability to handle several tasks/projects at once, maintaining tight deadlines.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages
• Willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
• Project a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new work conditions
• Valid Driver?s License.
• Legal right to work in Canada

Working Conditions

• Physical fitness with limber body movements and ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts).
• Ability to perform essential job tasks in less than favourable job conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal Salary: $30.00-$35.00 per hour Benefits:
