Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for development and maintenance of AS/400 business systems. They must demonstrate analytical and creative problem solving abilities, work well with time constraints, and be highly motivated to learn and to apply knowledge.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain custom business applications and be part of a small development team Analyze system issues and design, code and test system solutions which will resolve the issues Other duties as required to support AS/400 users

Qualifications:

Post secondary diploma/degree in related field Strong RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CL with a minimum 5 years programming experience Highly developed written, verbal, and presentation communication skills that effectively articulates complex technical concepts to a diverse and, at times, non-technical audience at all levels in the organization Be results oriented, self-motivated and a team player

Desired Skills:

Experience with OS/400 operating system upgrades and PTFs. Experience with system configuration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Ability to work with team members to understand the business requirements and assist with the development of effective solutions to meet the client's needs Experience with creating APIs and data sharing to other non-AS400 systems Analytical and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
