Are you a skilled AS400 Developer with a strong background in IBM i systems and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality solutions in the banking or financial domain? This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in RPGILE, COBOL, and DB2/400 while collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Working with one of our top financial clients, this position calls for an AS400 Developer/RPG Developer- Banking/Financial who will play a hands-on role in development, design, and deployment within a structured Waterfall environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep AS400 experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering robust, maintainable code that supports key banking operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on coding and development on AS400 systems using RPGILE, SQLRPGLE, COBOL, and CL.
Participate in low-level design, implementation, and testing activities.
Collaborate closely with teams during SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases.
Write and maintain technical documentation and implementation plans for deployment.
Communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical peers to ensure alignment on requirements and deliverables.
Work within a Waterfall methodology framework to manage tasks and deliver projects efficiently.
Desired Skill Set:
Strong experience in AS400 / IBM i development.
Proficiency in RPGILE, SQLRPGLE, COBOL, and CL programming languages.
Experience with DB2/400 (DB2400) databases.
Familiarity with development tools such as RDI and ARCAD.
Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-Have:
Exposure to Agile methodology or hybrid delivery environments.
