Do you prefer a flexible opportunity which will fit nicely into your current lifestyle and schedule? We are seeking educators and other professionals to join our team at Paragon of Play.

We host a variety of programming for children and adults at our centres in Belleville and Batawa with a focus on arts, education, and well-being.

We are specifically looking for educators who are available in running some of our 4pm-5:30pm classes and P.A. Day camps as needed. As well, we need team members interested in being trained to run birthday parties/private rentals, paint nights, and to work with 1:1 tutoring clients (typically elementary reading/writing, math, and French) as opportunities arise.

In addition to our standard programming, we welcome educators and professionals who are interested in developing and implementing their own original programming with Paragon of Play. You will benefit from our committed client base of approximately 200 families in the region, and enjoy the flexibility of creating your own hours and work schedule.

Duties

Communicate with families at drop-off and pick-up, establishing positive relationships built on trust and shared interests. Implement high quality programming, with a focus on holistic learning and development. Assist in or take the lead in the development of new programs, events, and community offerings. Facilitate programs ranging from our regular 90 minute after school classes, to 2-hour paint nights, to full-day P.A. Day camps for children. Demonstrate inclusion, respect, and a genuine dedication to care for all children and families who are connected with our centres.

Skills

The ideal candidate should possess some or all following skills:

Outgoing and positive attitude, can interact with families confidently Understanding of inclusive practices, supporting a wide range of people and families from a variety of backgrounds Able to work well with children or adults with special needs who may require accommodations in order to participate in programming Background knowledge in the arts, elementary-level academics, and/or working with children/adults/families Willingness to work as a dedicated team member, supporting a shared goal of providing high-quality enrichment programming for our community
