Reporting to the Director of Support Services, the
Art Therapist
will work under the guidance of AGI's Creative Arts Therapies Team Leader and will be responsible for developing and facilitating meaningful, goal-oriented art therapy experiences as part of AGI's therapeutic programming. This position supports individuals at varying stages of dementia and plays an essential role in enhancing participants' psychosocial and emotional well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Creative Arts Therapies Team Leader to develop, deliver, and evaluate strengths-based, person-centred art therapy programming for people living with varying stages of neurocognitive impairment.
Facilitate group and individual art therapy sessions, both in-person and online.
Design and implement individualized art therapy programs, tailored to meet clients' strengths, interests, needs, and abilities.
Collaborate with/co-supervise art therapy students and volunteers who will assist with programming.
Work closely and collaboratively with other interdisciplinary staff.
Be responsible for proper organization and maintenance of necessary equipment and therapeutic spaces.
Be responsible for ongoing clinical documentation of clients' participation as well as regular evaluation of the client's suitability for art therapy programming.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and creative environment for clients during therapy sessions.
Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional code of ethics.
Utilize different forms of arts such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and more to facilitate self-expression, personal insight, and emotional healing.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Master's degree in Art Therapy or a related field
Some work experience as an Art Therapist
Ability to assess, document, evaluate, and report as required
Strong knowledge of art therapy theories, techniques, and practices
Excellent observational, interpersonal, and listening skills
Experience working with individuals, groups, and/or families
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Remuneration and Benefits
$27.00 - $32.00 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a
part-time role
