Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is situated on the ancestral land of the Siksikaitsitapi - Blackfoot Confederacy which includes the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani Nations and the shared territories of the Tsuut'ina Nation as well as the Iyarhe Nakoda-Stoney which includes Bearspaw, Chiniki, Good Stoney Nations and also the home of the Metis Nation of District 5 and 6. The Alberta University of the Arts is one of only four major art, craft and design focused Universities in Canada. Our internationally recognized programs and state-of-the-art facilities offer our 1,100 students a hands-on, studio-based education that leads to a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Design, and an MFA in Craft Media. The Opportunity

The Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is looking for Art Models to support its studio-based programs for the current academic year.



These are casual positions commencing as soon as possible until June of the current academic year. Hours of work may include daytime, evening, or weekends. Due to the casual nature of these positions, there is no guarantee of hours. Art Models are scheduled based on individual availability and faculty requests. Scheduled hours may vary and are subject to Operational needs.



Art Models provide draped and un-draped modeling services for credit courses in academic program areas including drawing, painting, and sculpture, as well as continuing education courses.

Key Responsibilities:

Use awareness of the body and the ability to twist, turn, and bend to accentuate the 3-dimensional qualities of the human figure in various poses

The successful candidate will have:

Ability to hold stationary poses for lengthy periods Excellent listening skills with the ability to follow directions, guidance, and suggestions from the Instructor Comfort posing nude Flexible schedule to accommodate booking requests Prior art modeling experience is considered an asset

We pride ourselves on providing a student-centered, learning-focused, and respectful environment. Models of all genders, ages, and body types are needed to maintain a roster of Art Models which can provide variety in the studios according to the needs of the academic program.



As a member of the AUPE bargaining unit (Local 071/006), this casual position pays an hourly rate of $19.82 and dues will be collected at a rate of 1.25% per pay. As this position is casual in nature, there will be no guarantee of hours or a regular schedule.
