Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Arena Operator to join our team! The Part-Time Arena Operator will be responsible for completing manual labor duties to keep recreation facilities safe and clean for customers and employees.

Responsibilities

:

Ice maintenance including scrapes, flood, hose floods and edging Custodial duties including day - day maintenance of washrooms, dressing rooms, common areas and floors Supervise operational activities such as ensuring ice quality and directing user groups Perform building checks and Refrigeration checks Equipment maintenance and small repairs Assist users with arena equipment, audio equipment and score clock function Perform building maintenance including painting and minor repairs Assist with ice installation and ice removal Perform security checks around arena and parking lot Snow removal and litter pick on arena side Assist in maintaining a safe work environment Public relations

Skills:

Ability to work independently Good customer service skills Good communication and problem-solving skills Good planning and organizational skills Preventative maintenance experience

Physical/Psychological Demands:

Ability to work in a fast-paced noisy environment Ability to work inside as well as outside when required Ability to be aware of surroundings at all times. Ability to work in an environment that is cold and slippery due to cooling plant, on a daily basis. Physically fit and able to lift and move objects 50lbs or greater.

Qualifications:

Arena Operator Certifications Level 1 & 2 or in process of obtaining certifications Current Intermediate First Aid CSA Standard Z1210-17 WHMIS certification Proof of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience Must have a valid drivers' license and own transportation

Work Term:

Part - Time, up to 20 hours/week Must be available for variable shifts including daytime, evenings, nights and weekends.
