Part Time Rink Attendant

$18-$20 an hour depending on experience.

12hr - 20hr /week

The Hockey Hub YYC was designed to help promote the game of hockey, develop athletes in a positive learning environment, and ultimately provide a home for the community to enjoy this amazing sport! Our Ice surface measures 145'x55' and is available for rentals by individuals, small groups, team training, games and development. The Hockey Hub focuses on ensuring our facility and customer service exceeds expectations.

What the role is all about:

As a Rink Attendant, you will be part of a close team that operates and maintains the Hockey Hub YYC's high-performance ice surface and all arena infrastructure. This position predominantly operates the ice resurfacer to ensure high-performance ice standards.

Responsibilities:

Daily ice maintenance (resurface, scrape, edge) and arena infrastructure (dressing rooms, hallways, bathrooms, floors) Heavy cleaning role involving checking and/or cleaning dressing rooms and bathrooms between all rentals and gym cleaning Weekly cleaning involving arena glass, showers, and deep cleaning of players' benches and rooms. Routine facility maintenance (changing lights, changing blades, painting, repairs, etc.) Set up and teardown ice with necessary equipment for rentals and programs Provide direction and mentorship to assisting rink attendants Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all Hockey Hub safety policy and procedures and ensuring one's own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and Hockey Hub guests Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

A Class 5 driver's license is required Arena Operator Level 1 is an asset 1-year cleaning or arena experience is an asset Customer service experience is an asset A valid Police check with a vulnerable sector search must be provided upon hiring

Physical Demands

Work environment is cold, wet, and will include extensive walking and/or standing. Mix of indoor and outdoor work. Heavy lifting at times is required. Occasional working at heights required. Occasional overnight work required.
