We want consistent and predictable operations done the right way, every time.Plains is currently looking to fill the position of Area Supervisor based in Olds AB. The successful candidate will report to the District Manager and be responsible for managing Plains\xe2\x80\x99 crude oil operations within our Olds/Sundre assets that includ pipeline, truck loading/unloading, mainline and gathering facilities, ROW management, product storage, lab, maintenance, operations, front office and personnel. The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout the area and provide operational and technical support to staff ensuring key responsibilities around facilities operational costs, production, maintenance, quality and EH&S objectives are met while ensuring regulatory compliance.Responsibilities:

  • Providing direction, leadership and supervision in all aspects of the managing the day to day operation including operations and maintenance, and ensuring company standards, policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with the corporate Operating Management System (OMS);
  • Motivating, managing and leading a diverse multi-discipline team by communicating common goals, strategies and results of the business unit;
  • Managing and monitoring operating/capital budget/expenses and forecasted data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Acting as Emergency Response Plan Coordinator for the sites ensuring response plans and team capabilities are in place and current; assuming the role of Incident Commander in the event of an incident;
  • Ensuring safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and pipeline/terminal operation activities accordance with company standards;
  • Balancing business development, operational management and project management (construction/engineering) activities in the facilities;
  • Supporting policy and procedure development, implementation and enforcement; and
  • Ensure all environmental regulations and safety compliance standards are applied.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholder groups
Qualifications:
  • Candidates should possess a minimum of 8-10 years related experience pipeline operations (HVP and LVP), custom treating, and LPG Facility/Fractionation;
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong operational understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance for pipeline and piping components as well as repair and maintenance of those components;
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a multitude of priorities and direct staff in a fast paced and changing environment;
  • Emergency response leadership training and experience;
  • Well developed planning, organizational, and project management skills;
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Excel;
  • Permanent residency within 100 KM of our Olds field office is a condition of employment;
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
