QUALIFICATIONS




Completed post-secondary education relevant to the position Management Professional or Certified in Production and Inventory Management Graduate or currently enrolled in an appropriate certification program (Supply Chain Management Professional or Certified in Production and Inventory Management). Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience(qualification may be deleted if deemed unnecessary) Two (2) years previous experience in Materials Management with a focus on purchasing and inventory management. Three (3) Years of Management experience preferably in a Health Care setting. Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized inventory control systems Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations. Demonstrated ability to develop Policy and Procedures. Demonstrated experience in initiating changes and improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) environment. Ability to prioritize in a changing environment. Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management. Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills. Ability to display independent judgment. Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population. Ability to respect and promote confidentiality. Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Area Manager Materials Management shall be accountable to the Regional Manager Supply Chain Management and is responsible for the operation of the Materials Management department within Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

Responsible for the safe administration and operation of Material Management throughout Prairie Mountain Health.

Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Material Management within Prairie Mountain Health.

Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Material Management

Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.

Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.

Responsible for ensuring compliance of Workplace Safety and Health, Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene, Regional Policies and other educational requirements for all staff under their supervision.

Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.

Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.

Promotes positive public relations.

Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health's Vision, Mission and Values statements.

Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health's services.

Act as a liaison between nursing units and material management to ensure timely and appropriate distribution of clinical supplies.

Assist in the selection, evaluation, and implementation of clinical products and equipment.

Other duties as assigned
