We are seeking an experienced Area Construction Manager - TSF (Tailings Storage Facility) & Bulk Earthworks to lead the execution of a major tailings dam and earthworks scope within a high-altitude mining project in South America. This site-based role demands a hands-on leader with deep expertise in heavy civil construction and mass excavation.
Location: Vancouver then relocate to South America
Project Type: Large-scale Mining & Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities

• Lead construction execution for the TSF (Tailings Storage Facility) and bulk earthworks, including drill & blast and mass excavation.
• Champion a strong HSE culture across all phases of the project.
• Provide field support for contract development, contractor mobilization, and execution oversight.
• Manage fleet mobilization, logistics, and infrastructure development.
• Oversee construction of a 100m earthen tailings dam, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Integrate owner self-perform activities, including >100T earthmoving fleet management.
• Support early site development and infrastructure planning to enable smooth mobilization.
• Drive schedule and production management, including schedule mitigation strategies.
• Lead personnel across EPCM home office and field execution teams.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in mining.
• Proven experience in high-altitude execution (>3500 masl).
• Prior leadership in tailings dam construction and mass excavation.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Experience working in South America; Argentina experience is an asset.
• Strong background in project setup, planning, and field execution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in remote environments.
