Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Architecture Technician to be based in Whitby, ON; Toronto, ON; Markham, ON. The role is open to remote work, or hybrid remote work with some days worked out of our offices.

Job Summary:
+ Work on design and drawing production for municipal, Institutional and industrial projects;
+ Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports;
+ Prepare and coordinate 2D drafting and 3D modelling assignments with project managers, architects, engineers and other technologists from initial project stage through to project completion;
+ Work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to produce construction documents;
+ Coordinate 2D drawings and 3D models with other disciplines, construction specifications, vendor drawings, and other construction documents;
+ Work proficiently in AutoCAD and Revit;
+ Follow group practices and prescribed project standards;
+ Ensure that project needs are met in a timely manner.
+ Strong client communication, teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Minimum Requirements
+ Architectural Technology Diploma or related post-secondary program plus 2+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ 6 years of relevant experience
+ Strong graphic, written and verbal communication skills
+ Confidence working with tight deadlines and under pressure
+ Attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills
+ Proficient knowledge of construction specifications and contract administration
+ Proven technical understanding of building science and construction contracts.
+ Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and other codes/regulations in North America
+ Open to new experiences and learning new skills
+ Desire to progress towards an A.Sc.T. status
+ Self-motivated with versatility and initiative
+ Positive, energetic, and helpful attitude
+ Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit is mandatory
+ Fluency in English with excellent verbal communication skills is mandatory
