Position

: Architectural Technologist/Estimator (1 position)

Employment Type:

Full Time.

Office Hours:

Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 5pm, overtime as required.

This is an office-based role with the ability to work 1 day per week from home.

Salary:

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 depending on experience

This position requires candidates to possess excellent drafting skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to take the initiative to follow-through on a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. Each candidate should have a sense of responsibility for their work, be able to successfully interact with other team members and take direction. Candidates must be able to work independently in a demanding environment and should be self-motivated, responsible, assertive, and enthusiastic.

Key competencies, skills, and professional requirements:

Minimum 2-3 years' experience as an estimator, tendering coordinator/purchaser, architectural technologist within a similar organization or general contractor, trade contractor or design/build contractor. Fully understand / read / interpret construction & working drawings, specifications, and tender documents. You must be meticulous and thorough. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials and building systems Excellent communication skills with team members to ensure accuracy.

Technical & Software Proficiency:

Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents with an elevated level of detail and accuracy.

Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Work and Power Point for document preparation, reporting, and communication.

AutoCAD: professional experience in drafting, 3D modeling and preparing technical drawings.

Experience with SketchUP, Adobe Photoshop and 3D rendering is an asset.

Familiarity with quantity take-off and estimating software (such as Planswift, Bluebeam or other industry-standard tools.)

Proficiency in PDF markup applications to prepare and annotate shop and detail drawings.

Communication & Collaboration:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to present and discuss technical details clearly.

Effectively collaborates with teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project accuracy.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in drawings and specifications.

Project Management & Organization:

Manage multiple projects efficiently in a demanding environment.

Take ownership of deliverables, ensuring high-quality output.

Adapts to changing project requirements while meeting strict deadlines.
