Versatile Concepts Industries Ltd. (VCI). VCI Modular manufacturing is seeking a permanent full-time Architectural Technologist. This opportunity requires in-person work based in Vonda, SK.

VCI is a design-build manufacturer that delivers projects using a modular building process. We focus on providing building solutions to the commercial, educational, institutional, and industrial markets in Western Canada.

What you'll do:

The Architectural Technologist supports the successful design of construction drawings for commercial and some residential projects. The roles and responsibilities include the following:

Support the design and detailing of modular buildings, including drafting construction drawings, site plans, architectural schedules and other building aspects as required. Create take-off documentation and calculations to support the bidding and purchasing process. Guide the team in interpreting and using technical information, including building code reviews, to ensure code compliance in design work. Collaborate with clients, designers, and engineering consultants to bring projects to life. Utilize building science principles to support the creation of as-built drawings and documentation. Overlook VCI production Quality Control system. Prepare work plans for projects on which he/she has been assigned. Assist with tender and award processes as required. Assist with preparation of subcontracts. Implement the approved project work plan. Establish and Maintain project files. Ensure Project Forms and Quality Assurance Forms are up to date with most recent information. Update and maintain contract drawings and logs; distribute to trades as required. Attend and prepare minutes for project subcontractor meetings. Provide document turnover to Owner at project completion as appropriate. Collection and assembly of project Operation & Maintenance manuals. Assist the project manager with contract changes as required. Deliverables ? Expedite subcontractor shop drawings, samples, materials etc. Assist with preparation of a deliverables list (specification review). Establish timelines for deliverables (procurement schedule). Request deliverables, submit and distribute as required. Maintain deliverable logs (for submittals and samples etc). Other duties as assigned.

Who you'll work with:

You will collaborate closely with our sub trades and VCI employees to ensure the successful completion of projects. During the construction phases, you will work closely with our team of carpenters and laborers to bring projects to life.

By forming critical relationships with our supply chain and subcontractors, we can collaborate on designs that result in high-quality, cost-efficient buildings for our customers.

You will work closely with our customers during all project phases.

What you'll bring:

Preferably 3 to 5 years' experience but not necessary. A diploma or certi?cate in building engineering technology, architectural technology, or similar. A thorough understanding and implementation of commercial specifications and submittal procedures for projects. Advanced knowledge of drafting software, preferably AutoDesk Revit or AutoCad. Be proficient with Microsoft products. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner and Project Plan 3. Working knowledge of the National Building Code and National Energy Code. Good understanding of building science and construction methodology. Ability to work independently and take initiative to identify tasks. Construction background is an asset.

We work Monday to Friday - 8 am to 4:30 pm. Some overtime and weekend work could be requested on some projects.

Pay: $42,412.85-$88,989.13 per year
